Tiny rosettes. Angular flowers. Diamonds. Boxes. Hooks. Branches. Little blue shapes we stopped trying to name.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eEvery inch got used.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDeep midnight-indigo spandrels anchor the corners, while an incredible ivory border filled with dark floral forms wraps around the entire composition. Your eye moves from the little cobalt accents to the ivory flowers, back through the dark indigo corners, and eventually lands on that fantastic high-contrast border.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThen you notice something else.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAnd something else.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAnd something else.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe colors are especially good because they've had decades to stop shouting and start getting interesting. Brick red has softened. Ivory has warmed. Blue ranges from midnight to startling little flashes of cobalt. Pink appears exactly where you don't expect it.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eNothing is perfectly centered.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eNothing repeats quite correctly.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eNobody fixed it. The drawing remains wonderfully legible.
