Floating across it is a huge geometric floral medallion rendered in \u003cstrong\u003epeacock blue, turquoise, burgundy, mustard yellow, chocolate brown, ivory, and faded rose\u003c\/strong\u003e.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAnd we mean huge.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAt only 2'2\" × 2'10\", there wasn't much real estate to work with, so the weaver apparently decided to use all of it.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe medallion stretches almost edge to edge, exploding outward into serrated leaves, enormous stylized flowers, angular vines and strange little botanical forms. Then mustard-yellow vines cut through the composition and give everything another jolt.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThere is nothing timid happening here.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAnd because it was drawn at the loom rather than perfected on a screen, the whole composition has movement. Flowers change shape. Lines wander. Proportions shift. One side never quite agrees with the other.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eThat's not a defect. That's the autograph.\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eCONDITION\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003ePeacock shows honest antique wear and an absolutely spectacular patina.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThere is visible variation and wear to the pile, along with age-related irregularity at the ends and edges.
